I admire your spirit, generosity, and global service but I have to challenge your school of thought and experiment. I believe that as an educator and semi-science geek your experiment should have been a controlled subject. An eight year old with 10 years of prior exposure to the IT world is an unfair analysis of the XO/laptop. He has preconceived notions, expectations, and more hands-on experience with a state of the art 'big box' computer than the 5 people ahead of me in the McDonalds drive-up. He's a wonderfully creative, intelligent, and curious young participant but I can't help but feel that his prior experience casts a cloud upon the sunshine, thrill, and excitement displayed by a village full of innocent third world children.

My final thought. I don't understand the 'give on, get one' theory. If the program is lacking or behind production, why would you 'get one'. They should create a program 'give two, screw you'.

Sorry, I'm not responding seriously. This is a wonderful program and attempt to educate some very deserving children.

Educate, Communicate, and try not to Hate,
